She's kickin'

I've been feeling the baby move around some lately and Todd has been really wanting to feel it to. Last night, we were watching TV and he had his hand on my belly hoping to catch a kick.. and she gave him a jab. He was really excited and of course wanted to feel it again, but that was all for the night.

Of course, our little show-stealing pup discovered she was not the center of his attention at the time and jumped up on the couch to see what he was so excited about. When she saw that he had his hand on my belly, she sat down between us and put her paw right next to his on my belly. I'm not even lying, our dog thinks she is human and shows us proof daily. So there we were, all three of us, sitting on the couch with our hands (and paw) on my tummy waiting for the baby to kick again. Quite a sight I'm sure!

And we're afraid of having just one...

If this is God's plan for Todd and I, then we have even more proof that He has a sense of humor. We can't even handle the thought of more than one child, much less the thought of 18!

ABBOTSFORD, British Columbia (AP) -- A Romanian immigrant has given birth to her 18th child in British Columbia, making her the province's most prolific mother in 20 years.

Proud dad Alexandru Ionce said Saturday that his 44-year-old wife, Livia, gave birth on Tuesday. Their daughter Abigail weighed in at seven pounds, 12 ounces.

"We never planned how many children to have. We just let God guide our lives, you know, because we strongly believe life comes from God and that's the reason we did not stop the life," said Alexandru Ionce.

The couple immigrated to Canada from Romania in 1990 and now live in Abbotsford, British Columbia. Their 17 other children range in age from 20 months to 23 years old.

Ionce said he did not know if the couple would have more children. The family now has 10 girls and eight boys.

"We would have liked a boy to be even," he said. "We thank God all of them are healthy and happy."

Ionce said the family has received calls from Germany, Romania and England, as well as from media outlets across Canada.

Our Little Alien Baby

Yes... that's our girl! Isn't she a cutie! The Dr's warned us that these pictures might look a little scary because she is still getting skin and fat tissue. She actually stayed pretty still for these photos so they were able to get some good pictures of her vital organs... and her butt.

As you can see in the last picture, she spread eagle for us so that we could be sure she was a girl. Apparently they say she has long legs too! That's a trait that I always wanted! Must be from the Lyle side:)

Name your name!

When we found out we were having a baby, Todd and I had different opinions on whether or not we were going to find out the sex. I am totally fine with not finding out and having a big surprise in the delivery room, however, my husband is a planner and needed to know, so I agreed.

The compromise was that we wouldn't tell people the name of the baby before the birth. It's funny because I don't know if we'll have a name picked out before then anyway. Todd and I seem to have quite different naming styles. Plus, he doesn't even really want to talk about names until he has read every page of the baby name book I bought for .50 at a Dollar General. Had I known that my husband would need to read the entire book, I probably would have gone out and spent more money on one.

So far, we are nameless. I really wouldn't be surprised if our darling baby is nameless for a few hours or days while Todd sits in the hospital room quickly finishing the cheap naming book. If you have any name suggestions for our little girl, feel free to send them to me!

Diet Coke & Oranges

Lately I've been feeling really sluggish and lazy and yucky. I don't know if it's because it's like the middle of the summer in SC, or the whole pregnant thing, but I feel like a big loaf. I haven't even gained that much weight yet, but I feel like I should be like 30 pounds heavier because all I do is lay on the couch when I'm not at work... and even when I am at work, I'm dreaming about laying at the couch. Seriously I think a coworker is going to walk by my office door one day and I'm just going to be face down snoring on my keyboard... probably with a caffeine free diet coke in one hand, and a half an orange slice in the other (because that's pretty much all I can stomach some days).

I remember when I was training for the half marathon I ran last year and I had so much energy and felt so healthy. I really don't think I have run more than 2 miles since the day I returned from that event. Such a slacker in so many ways.

Isn't it ironic that the more lazy you are... the less energy you have? How does all that work anyway?

That's it, I've had enough... I'm going running tonight! Or maybe I'll just dream about running while I nap on the couch. Hey, it's the thought that counts, right?

Need a hobby??

I'm not one to judge... but I think this guy needs a hobby! Where do people come up with these ideas!

PASADENA, Calif. --Jim Purol took a seat at the Rose Bowl, and then another, and then another, until he broke a world record.

The Anaheim man set a Guiness World Record on Wednesday for "Most Seats Sat in 48 Hours" by sitting in 39,250 seats.

He began the task Monday morning, and he's still going, hoping to rest his tush in each of the stadium's 92,542 seats by sometime this week.

The 56-year-old, who already holds several other world records, says he has dreamed of tackling the Rose Bowl seats for 20 years - ever since he sat in all 107,501 chairs at the University of Michigan's football stadium.

The feat has taken a toll on his body and his cleanliness, as soot on the seats rubbed off on his clothes. He says he loves the Rose Bowl but calls the place "filthy."

House Pictures

Ok, like I promised, here are some before and after pictures of the outside of our new house. For some reason the new pictures are backwards so when you see something on the left side, it's really on the right.

I'll post inside pictures when we are fully unpacked:)

Cow Appreciation Day

Apparently today is Cow Appreciation Day at Chick Fil A. If you go to Chick Fil A dressed as a cow, you get a free meal. Unfortunately I did not know this before going there for lunch. However, a lot of other people remember! I tried to get away with telling the lady at the counter that I felt like a cow and therefore should get my meal for free... but she didn't fall for it! I'll have to try again at dinner.

Wow... already I'm a blogging slacker:)

So I started this blog months ago and then never posted anything. I guess a lot has been going on in the Land of Lyle and I haven't had the time to get stuff on here.

For those of you who don't know, Todd and I are going to have a baby girl in early December. This is her first picture. She looks just like Todd if you ask me:) Everything is going well so far, and I am finally over the morning/all day sickness!

We also moved into a new house that we renovated in a really great historic neighborhood in Columbia. I'll post before and after pictures soon. We are still getting unpacked and figuring out where to put things. It seems like everytime I move, I say that I'm never going to move again, but then a year or two passes by and I'm ready to pack up again. Hopefully this house will be different.
