About 10 seconds after I took these pictures she fell over. But she did it on her own for a little while first!

Strawberry Pickin'

I've been lazy with downloading pictures lately so I am catching up today. A few weekends ago, Hannah and I and some other friends went to pick strawberries. It was great fun!

All ready to go.

Gina and Emily check out the crop.

Tuckered out on the way home.

Moms...

My sister-in-law, Carrie, sent me this great card for Mothers' Day and I thought I'd share it with you because I love what it says and totally agree. So if anyone who works for American Greetings reads this, please don't fine me...I'm not taking credit for writing the following. (Sidebar: What are the chances that someone who works for American Greetings reads this blog anyway? If you are reading this, and you work there, please let me know just so I can see the irony!)

Motherhood is not for Sissies
Motherhood is not for women with weak stomachs, strict routines, or wall-to-wall white carpeting
Motherhood is not for women unable to juggle three things at once, read between the lines, or face fear on a regular basis.
Motherhood is not for women who can't answer the same knock-knock joke "umpteen" times a day, the endless "whys" of childhood, or hear the unspoken feelings of a child's heart.

Motherhood is for women who can taste the tea in an empty cup,
see the smiles behind the peanut butter,
and the genius in tiny scribbles.

Motherhood is for the caring and courageous women who make a difference in the lives they touch.

Thanks Carrie, Mom and Jeanie for being such great examples for me!

To: Lilly the dog From: Hannah

Dearest Lilly,

Well it's been almost 5 months now that we have been coexisting in this house, and so far I think things are going ok. However, I do have a few pointers for you to make things a little easier for yourself.

1. The whole trick you pulled the other day with the pillow and feathers was not funny! Ok, I lied... it was funny for like a minute. But then Mom & Dad discovered how hard it'd be to clean it up. I mean, there are still feathers wandering down the hallway. They seem to be multiplying! And you had to pick Mom's favorite throw pillow too. Not a good move. However, I think Dad is secretly happy that you picked one of the many throw pillows to chew up since he considers all extra pillows on the bed as total wastes of space and money.

2. Quit the napping all over the house. First of all, it makes you look really lazy. Secondly, Mom thinks that just because you nap, that I should too. This is not the case. I do not need naps like most babies. I'd much rather be fussy and fight sleep with all that is within me. So wake up and let's play a little.

3. I have a new toy that allows me to play on the floor as you have noticed. When I am playing with my new favorite toy, just stay away. Mom wouldn't have to kick you out of the room every time if you could just resist the temptation to lick. I taste no different than I did yesterday when you licked me. Now that this whole pig cold thing is going around Mom is really paranoid and quite frankly I'm getting sick of being wiped down just because you can't hold your tongue in your mouth when I am on the floor.

4. I am cuter than you and I laugh now. This makes Mom and Dad very happy. Therefore, when I am laughing, do not try to do a trick of your own to steal their attention. Pretty soon I'm going to learn to crawl and do other very cute things so just get used to it! You might as well just except the facts and learn to love me. And I'll admit, you are pretty cute too... but I'm still cuter.

Time to eat...I'll write more later!

xoxo,
Hannah
